About

What is What I Am Building?

What I Am Building is a free link-in-bio page for founders. Think Linktree, but built around your projects instead of your social links: one page at whatiambuilding.com/yourname with everything you are building, have launched or have paused, ready for your X bio.

What does a page show?

  • A card for every project. Its name, a short description, an icon, platform and category tags, and the dates you started and launched it.
  • Where each one stands. Building, launched or paused, with a progress percentage on work in progress.
  • A direct link. Visitors tap a card and land on the product itself. Unfinished projects can leave the link out.
  • Stealth mode. Keep a project listed while masking its name, link or any other detail, fully or partly.
  • Your look. Five backgrounds and three fonts, and you choose the order of the cards.

Why build around projects instead of links?

An X profile has room for one website link. A link-in-bio page solves that, but a list of buttons does not tell anyone what each thing is, whether it is live or how far along it is. Founders usually have more than one answer to "what are you working on?", and this page gives all of them at once.

What does it not do?

What I Am Building is not a storefront or a website builder. It has no custom domains, visitor analytics, email sign-ups or checkout. If you need those, this comparison covers the tools that have them.

Who makes it?

What I Am Building is built by @Emilianooo on X. The maker's own page, whatiambuilding.com/emiliano, is a live example, and the founder directory shows many more.

Questions people ask

Is What I Am Building a Linktree alternative?
Yes, for people who build things. Like Linktree, it gives you one link for your bio. Instead of a list of link buttons, your page lists your projects, each with a status, progress and a direct link.
Is it only for founders?
No. Anyone with projects to show can use it, including developers, indie hackers and vibe coders.
Will my page show up on Google?
It can. Pages with at least one public project are listed in the site's sitemap, with a title and description written from your name and projects. Pages with only stealth projects stay out of search results.
What can people see of a stealth project?
Only what you choose. A stealth project stays on your own page with any of its details masked, and it never appears in the founder directory.
