Bento alternative

Looking for a Bento alternative?

Bento.me shut down on February 13, 2026. If you used it to show your projects, What I Am Building is a free replacement made for exactly that: one page with everything you are building, at whatiambuilding.com/yourname.

What happened to Bento?

Bento was a free link-in-bio page known for its grid of cards. Linktree bought it, and in December 2025 it was reported that Bento would close on February 13, 2026, that existing links would redirect to Linktree, and that user data would be permanently deleted. Bento's shutdown notice now lands on Linktree's home page.

So if your X bio or email signature still has a bento.me address, it may be sending people to Linktree instead of to you. It is worth checking today.

How is What I Am Building different from Bento?

Bento let you arrange a free-form grid of links, images and widgets. Your page here is simpler: your profile at the top and a card for each project, in the order you choose. You pick from five backgrounds and three fonts rather than designing a layout.

What you get in return is structure. Every project shows its status, progress and dates with a direct link, and stealth mode keeps unannounced work on your page with its details masked. It is free, with no paid plan.

Questions about leaving Bento

Is Bento.me still working?
No. Bento shut down on February 13, 2026, and its links were set to redirect to Linktree.
Can I get my old Bento page back?
Probably not. Bento said user data would be permanently deleted after the shutdown. If you kept a copy, use that to rebuild your page. If not, your old posts and project sites are the place to start.
What is the best free alternative to Bento?
It depends on what you used it for. For showing projects, What I Am Building is free with no paid plan. For designing your own page, try Carrd's free plan. For a simple list of links, try Linktree's.
Can I import my Bento page?
No, there is no import. A page takes a couple of minutes to rebuild by hand: each project needs a name, a short description and a link.
